CBD for Dogs: Frequently asked questions.
Today, both pet owners and veterinarians know that CBD can prevent mental and physical problems that conventional medications sometimes cannot.
Although the use of CBD in veterinary medicine is not widely used, there is a slight tendency - the situation is beginning to improve. Because even the lack of legal power in recent years has not prevented pet owners from getting the products they need to help their pets. Many of them have already tested CBD for the positive effects on their pets. Before starting Cannabis treatment for your pet, always consult your veterinarian, as much as it is possible for you, unless he / she specializes in this area. Given that CBD as a treatment is relatively new and veterinary studies have not included an overview of Cannabis and its therapeutic benefits for animal health in their curricula, many have only heard of it and will not be able to advise you in this case. At present, the only thing we can do, especially veterinarians, is to study and research for ourselves, and to wait for official legislation and research on CBD products and their effects, so that CBD products can be officially recommended to pet owners.
CBD products are useful not only for people, but also for our furry friends. You can help your dog discover CBD, its valuable therapeutic properties, to improve your dog's daily life and quality of life in general, especially as they reach a respectable senior age.

Let's try to answer the questions that may have gone unanswered:
Why should dogs use CBD?
Like us, our dogs can suffer from ailments such as inflammation, arthritis, anxiety and more. Sometimes these conditions can cause mild discomfort, and sometimes it can be extremely painful and bothersome for the dog. Fortunately, just as CBD provides natural relief for our health, dogs using CBD oil can provide the same relief.
CBD works by stimulating the endocannabinoid system, an internal network that restores balance in the body. Dogs, like humans, have an endocannabinoid system that controls body functions such as pain, inflammation, digestion, cognitive function and immunity.
CBD is a phytocannabinoid found in Cannabis plants and stimulates endocannabinoid CB2 receptors in the body in a similar way to humans.
The endocannabinoid system helps to promote good health and general well-being. CBD works for dogs very much like for humans, promoting a sense of calmness and relaxation to help manage daily stress.
CBD's ability to interact with your dog's endocannabinoid system, helping to support the vital functions of their bodies.
You can read more about the endocannabinoid system here.
Whether the oil is for dogs or humans, there are numerous brands of CBD oil on the market that separate animal and human oil. Dog owners who use CBD oil themselves and are considering trying it for their dog may have a question -
Is there a difference between pet CBD oil and human CBD oil?
The short answer is no. The only difference is in the label and marketing tools. CBD is actually a molecule, not a product. Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is a therapeutic plant compound found naturally in the plant Cannabis sativa.
The only difference is the dose of CBD that is used by your dog compared to humans. Your fluffy friends are much smaller than you, so always follow the general dosing guidelines depending on your dog's weight and size to find the right dose. And always use CBD products without flavor enhancers, fragrances, as some companies tend to experiment with it to please the widest possible range of consumers.
So CBD is a plant molecule, so the CBD found in human CBD products is the same as the CBD found in pet-labeled or intended products. The main differences between conventional CBD and CBD for dogs are the amount of CBD found in the product, the other ingredients with which it is mixed, and how it is produced are the same. Most of our four-legged friends are much smaller than us, so they will also need a much lower dose than humans.
"There should be no difference in quality in oils for animal," says Judy Morgan, a holistic practitioner. "Many oils for human are quite concentrated, so dosing becomes a problem for smaller pets." And this is basically the only thing that should be paid attention to - lower concentration and adherence to doses.
Accordingly, the question arises - Can I use the same CBD oil that I use for my four-legged friend?
Can people use CBD oil for pets without experiencing any side effects? Judy Morgan explains that if a CBD oil producer is good, it will also produce oils for humans - which means it will be good enough for both you and your pet.
"If dogs can use CBD oil for humans," she said, "people could take and also use CBD oil for pets, as long as it's high quality."
What are the benefits of CBD for dogs?
The list of CBD health benefits studied is long and includes:
⦁ reduces pain
⦁ reduces inflammation
⦁ improves movement in dogs with osteoarthritis
⦁ reduces anxiety, which can help dogs with phobias or divorce anxiety
⦁ modulates sleep
⦁ reduction of tumor side effects
⦁ treatment of various skin diseases, including atopic dermatitis
⦁ ability to reduce dependence on other severe pain medications, such as opiates.
Is CBD oil safe for dogs?
Although CBD oil is considered safe for both humans and dogs, there is a possibility that an overdose could cause side effects for smaller dogs.
Studies on the effects of CBD show that there are no indications that CBD is unsafe in dogs or other pets. The best manufacturers of CBD products consider that the well-being and safety of your dog is at the very top of your list of priorities.
How to choose the right CBD : THC ratio?
When considering Cannabis as a medical option for treating a dog's pain and inflammation, it is important to understand how the various components of CBD can affect your pet. Experts believe that a more balanced combination of CBD and THC could have a greater impact than CBD or THC alone. Some important factors to keep in mind:
Entourage effect: the synergistic benefit of the whole Cannabis plant in terms of the main and lesser known cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. These factors affect the degree of biological activity and the range of diseases treated.
An appropriate ratio of THC to CBD and dose should be used for success.
The ratio of THC to CBD often ranges from 20 : 1, up to 1 : 1, and up to 1 : 20. The decision as to which product or ratio to use for a pet with pain / inflammation often depends on the severity of the pain and its origin. This is a small guide on how to choose coefficients for treating pain and inflammation in animals:
⦁ High CBD content.
4 : 1 to 20 : 1 CBD - THC with little or no THC. Used - mild to moderate pain, such as arthritis.
⦁ Even ratio.
1 : 1 CBD versus THC. Used - moderate to severe pain, such as arthritis pain.
⦁ High THC coefficient.
4 : 1 to 20 : 1 THC to CBD ratio. Used for very severe pain such as tumor pain, neurological pain and progressive arthritis.
How to use CBD for dogs?
CBD for dogs can be used daily to help maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The CBD product range includes a variety of products CBD oil, CBD crystals (called isolate) and CBD body oils that are easy to use and more importantly, safe. CBD oil drops and CBD isolate can be easily and conveniently added to a dog's daily feeding routine.
By dripping oil into a dog's mouth, CBD can be absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the mucous membranes and act faster. We recommend dropping the drops in the mouth, away from teeth, and for safety reasons do not put the glass dropper or pipette directly in the dog's mouth, as the dropper may break.
There are also a variety of edibles available with CBD, but the downside is that it is impossible to determine the exact dose.
Topical oils and ointments with CBD are applied directly to the animal's skin.
When deciding what dose of CBD to use, each dog will need a different amount, depending on the size of your dog.
How to determine the dose correctly?
We recommend starting with the lowest dose, slowly increasing it every 4 to 7 days.
Higher doses may be needed, depending on the medical condition and individual case, as each dog is different, so it is always better to increase the amount gradually until you reach the desired effect.
You can find our usage table here.
If you notice any side effects, reduce the dose or stop taking it immediately.
Will using CBD make my dog intoxicated or "high"?
Although most people know other Cannabis compounds, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is a Cannabis molecule that causes a 'high' effect. New users may be a little confused about the differences between CBD and THC.
CBD is not psychoactive, so it will not "boost" your dog, because the CBD compound has no intoxicating or strong triggering effects, so it cannot intoxicate your dog. CBD oils may contain small amounts of THC (up to 0.3%), but this is not high enough to produce a "high" effect.
Can CBD oil for dogs be used with other medicine?
We always recommend that you seek medical advice from a professional veterinarian before taking CBD with other medicine. It is possible to replace one of the synthetic medicines for the same health problems.
What are the possible side effects of using CBD for dogs?
- Dry mouth: this can be considered as severe thirst for dogs.
- Drowsiness: this side effect can be described as mild drowsiness, which is more common at higher doses.
- Low blood pressure: this can cause dizziness for dogs.
When using Cannabis as a treatment for dogs, it must be remembered first that any significant side effects are not acceptable. The goal of Cannabis therapy is to relieve our pets' treatable symptoms without any other side effects. Their normal behavior should not be changed after receiving treatment.
The good news is that the toxicity of Cannabis is not lethal and does not cause long-term effects unless controlled by the dog's owner. Therefore, always keep CBD-containing products in a safe place so that the dog does not get them by itself.
What should you consider before using CBD for your dog?
⦁ Always tell your dog's veterinarian - if you are considering giving your dog CBD for the first time. Although not all veterinarians are aware of CBD and its potential therapeutic benefits, they will be able to help you with other medical issues.
⦁ Research and keep getting information - this is one of the most important factors in starting to give CBD to your dog. As well as finding the best quality CBD product. Also consider viewing the latest medical research on CBD dogs from trusted medical sites. Read more than one source and consider the pros and cons.
⦁ Find out how much CBD is right for your dog based on its weight and size - see our dosing chart.
Choose a high quality CBD for your pet. It is important to note that not all CBD is derived from Cannabis sativa, so always check the CBD ingredients and source. CBD derived from other strains or breeds may contain more THC, which is not recommended for daily use in dogs under normal conditions with minor health problems. It is best to use CBD products that contain up to 0.3% or less THC. There is also a choice of CBD isolates and a wide range of THC-free CBD oils.
Which GWEEPRODUCTS CBD products are suitable for dogs?
All GWEEPRODUCTS CBD products are suitable for both humans and dogs. We would not give your four-legged friend any lower quality than we offer to people. We believe that your pets deserve the same quality product we provide for you.

Multilevel filtering is used to further process the raw mass and reduce the admixture of fat, lipids and unwanted plant parts. The result is a safe and powerful end product, which is further used in the manufacture of our other products.
Our CBD products are well suited for all dog sizes and dog breeds.
⦁ What is a full spectrum CBD?
Full spectrum CBD is an extract containing all the compounds naturally occurring in the plant, including terpenes, essential oils and other cannabinoids.
The full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes and essential oils derived from the plant work together to maximize the therapeutic benefits of each individual cannabinoid. This is commonly referred to as the 'neighborhood effect'.
⦁ What is broad spectrum CBD?
Broad spectrum CBD is a bit of a mix between full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate.
Like the full spectrum CBD, the other compounds found in the plant are retained in the extract; however, like CBD isolate, THC is completely separated.
Because CBD contains a broad range of cannabinoids, it can provide enhanced "entourage effect" benefits without the risk of THC psychoactive effects.
⦁ What is a CBD Isolate?
From an scientific point of view, an isolate is the purest form of a compound obtained by isolating this compound from all other compounds.
Against this background, CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD produced by removing all other plant compounds, including terpenes, flavonoids, plant parts and other cannabinoids.
CBD isolate is usually obtained from Hemp because of its low or non-existent THC content.
⦁ CBD massage oil.
Full spectrum CBD extract, combined with the excellent carrier oils as safflower seed oil, grape seed oil, castor oil and field mustard seed oil, is an effective and soothing combination for aches, tension, joint pain, skin problems and inflammation, can reduce chronic and acute pain. No matter how much tension or discomfort your dog feels, this massage oil can give relief. And, most importantly, without any psychoactive effect, the oil, when applied to the dog's skin, does not enter the digestive tract or the bloodstream, thus reducing the potential side effects.

⦁ Always keep CBD products well marked and inaccessible - dog treats with CBD can be easily confused with regular dog treats, or even human treats. So always make sure they are well marked and out of reach of your dog and young children. If they take too much, it can cause side effects.
⦁ Never put glass dropper or pipettes in a dog's mouth. When giving CBD oil to a dog, especially if it happens with a glass dropper, always keep it away from the dog's mouth, as the dog may accidentally bite the glass and it could cut your dog's mouth.
⦁ Observe good hygiene - never put glass dropper directly into the dog's food or in the dog's mouth and do not put it back in the bottle. This could introduce bacteria and contaminate CBD oil. Apply the drops to your finger, palm, or drop from a height.
⦁ Be aware of possible bad reactions - as with any new product you give your dog, there is a possibility that it may have side effects. So keep a diary and write down the results. If you see any side effects in your dog, reduce the dose or stop taking it. If necessary, always seek medical advice from a professional veterinarian.
⦁ Not all CBD products are created equal - the CBD industry is not regulated, so manufacturers are also allowed to sell low-quality pet products. Always choose high quality CBD products from reliable manufacturers.

Research and development of Cannabis products and medicine containing them are at an early stage, especially in veterinary research. Much of the research is based on observations among humans, which confirms the effectiveness. There is data from studies to show that Cannabis is effective in many diseases, including pain and inflammation.
If we talk about why so little research on the effects of CBD products on dogs takes into account the general trend - resistance to the introduction of any new medicine or food supplement in the veterinary sector is quite cumbersome, as research and product promotion is mostly funded by the same companies benefit from the sale of conventional veterinary medicine and vaccines. Therefore, it is very difficult for new products to reach the consumer.
''Big Pharma'' prejudice is not just in the field of human medicine! There are no big surprises there.
On the other hand, new research on CBD and its many benefits over the past 20 years has convinced many in the medical community that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) is something very important and that the non-psychoactive compound cannabidiol has indeed been tested for health benefits with a very strong safety profile.
In addition, as laws continue to move to lower the ban on Cannabis for both medical and recreational purposes, public perceptions of it are slowly but surely beginning to change.
Of all the uses of Cannabis in human and veterinary medicine, pain relief is probably the most documented. Studies have shown the ability of Cannabis to relieve severe pain when exposed to a variety of medical conditions. THC and CBD extracts have been shown to provide relief even for people with advanced cancer pain as well as those with nerve pain.
